What is Yoga?

When people ask me what is Yoga, I always explain it in the way I understand it:

For me Yoga is my spiritual journey, the way to my true self, the way to liberate my mind from the Ego.




Yoga practise was first and above all a tool for spiritual development. Fitness is an additional benefit. By practising yoga, you are harmonizing the energy in your body and releasing it through your body. If we stay stuck in our ways with negative thoughts and behaviour, our emotions can become knotted, difficult to move on from and over time these could manifest as physical disease.

Liberation from attachments is Yoga and the state of freedom. 

 

SO WHAT IS YOGA?

 

Yoga is an ancient practise that aims to create union between body, mind and spirit.

Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breathing through the means of various pranayama (breathing techniques), yoga asanas (yoga poses), and meditation.

If you can breathe you can do yoga!
